Book Review: Better Full Than Empty

Infertility.
I haven’t struggled with it personally, but I know many people who have. I’m willing to bet you know someone too.

Today’s blog post isn’t about me or my business, but it is about encouraging other women on their journey. That’s something that I want to be a byproduct of this blog and the Facebook community.

I wanted to take the time to share about this particular book because it is written by a close friend of mine. I have had the pleasure of reading the book prior to its official launch date. I was impressed and very proud of my friend for sharing such a deeply personal story with the world.

I know what you’re thinking- “Of course she’s going to recommend the book, what kind of friend would she be if she didn’t?”

I can assure you, I wouldn’t have taken the time to write a blog post, if I didn’t think this book was worth sharing with others. I am not what one would consider a super outwardly emotional person, but this book made laugh out loud and cry more than once. I knew the story and the outcome, but Brandi’s storytelling still brought about an emotional response. It is my friend’s very first book, so is it perfect? No, but it is well-written and heartfelt.

The book ‘Better Full Than Empty’ is one woman’s real experience with infertility, where she shares how she and her husband dealt not only with the physical struggle, but the emotional toll and well-meaning comments made by those not intimate with their situation. But the infertility struggle is just a piece of this story. She also shares an adoption story that is truly incredible- I was friends with her during that period of her life, so I can attest that it really did happen the way she describes. If you are looking for a story of hope, encouragement, maybe a few tears and definitely a laugh or two, then this is a book worth looking into.

The book officially launches this Sunday, November 8, and is available on Amazon.

Brandi also writes a weekly blog where she shares encouraging words and funny stories to uplift her readers. You can find her at The Brandi Happenings .
